Hormuz Minina: Hop, Skip, Jump, Saturdays, April 2, 9, & 16 , 2016

Hormuz Minina is a multimedia performance artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. His performances are of a durational nature, and often are physically and psychically challenging. Site-specificity and improvisation are important elements of his work. In 2010, he performed Promontory, a piece focused on ritual. Inserting his body sideways into crevasse of a high bluff, Minina remained in a meditative posture for 24 hours. This work was featured in NoPlaceness - Atlanta Art Now, published by Possible Futures. For Hop Skip Jump, Minina will guide us on a journey exploring what it means to migrate across cultures, retain customs of one's homeland, challenges of communication, and experiences of celebration over three consecutive Saturdays in April. This work has been created specifically for Poem 88.
